Four steps to becoming a ship's doctor

Approximately 75 cruise lines operate 425 cruise ships simultaneously, meaning that an average of approximately 765 ship's doctors are currently on duty.

The requirements of cruise lines for prospective ship's doctors vary considerably. Depending on the shipping company, area of operation, and whether the ship is used for river or ocean cruises, the qualifications required vary significantly. In our ship's doctor courses, the instructors either experienced ship's doctors or representatives of the shipping companies—present the respective requirements. In addition, intensive lectures prepare participants for what working as a ship's doctor (m/f/d) on board actually entails.

Registration in the ship's doctor register, no subscription

You register as a ship's doctor, pay a ONE-TIME fee of €395, and enjoy the benefits for life.

Participation in the annual meeting and/or ship's doctor course

To better prepare for the role of ship's doctor, we strongly recommend participating in the ship's doctor course and/or the annual meeting.
